The Abwasserverband Starnberger See was founded by its constituent members on the basis of the German Act on Local Cooperation (KommGZ), which regulates the cooperation between municipalities, rural districts and administrative regions. It is a public-law corporation with its own executive bodies and administration. The association’s domicile is Starnberg and it is represented by its chairman.

Association bodies

The association’s bodies are reinstituted during every legislative period. The current term began in June 2008 and will end in 2014.

 

Association board

The association board is the highest-ranking body of the association. It is responsible for all duties of the association, provided they are not independently performed by the association committee, the association chairman or the managing director. The association board comprises the mayors, the delegates of the municipal and city councils, as well as the district administrator of the rural district of Starnberg. The number of representatives is determined by the population of the respective member communities. The association board currently comprises 41 association representatives.

 

Association committee

The association committee takes decisions on all matters assigned to it by the association statutes or the association board. It is the pre-consultative body of the association board. The committee comprises the mayors of the eight member municipalities and the district administrator of the rural district of Starnberg.

 

Association chairman

Mayor Ruper Monn was elected as chairman by the members of the association board. He represents the association and chairs the meetings of the association board and the association committee. The chairman presides over the administration of the association.

 

  Administration

The association has a total of 20 employees. They are deployed in the branch office and as operating staff for the wastewater treatment plant and the ring sewer. The business office is located together with the works management on the premises of the municipal wastewater treatment plant.
